As a dedicated advocate for the people of Fayetteville, I firmly believe that ensuring the safety and security of our neighborhoods requires a multifaceted approach that combines adequate funding for our police departments with meaningful reforms aimed at promoting accountability and fostering trust.  I will advocate for:

Increased Funding for Police Departments

Adequate resources are essential for law enforcement agencies to effectively carry out their duties, respond promptly to emergencies, and implement proactive measures to prevent crime. By ensuring that our police departments have the necessary funding, equipment, and personnel, we can strengthen our ability to keep our community safe.

Investing in Training and Development

 By investing in comprehensive training programs, including de-escalation techniques, cultural competency training, and crisis intervention training, we can empower our officers to effectively handle diverse situations while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.

Advocating for Reforms

While supporting our police departments, I also recognize the need for reforms that promote accountability, transparency, and community trust. I will actively advocate for policies and initiatives aimed at enhancing accountability mechanisms within law enforcement agencies, such as implementing body-worn cameras, establishing civilian oversight boards, and strengthening use-of-force policies. These reforms are essential for building trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve, ultimately fostering safer and more resilient neighborhoods.

I will work tirelessly to facilitate dialogue between law enforcement agencies, community leaders, and residents. In addition to addressing immediate public safety concerns, I am committed to tackling the underlying systemic challenges that contribute to crime and insecurity in our community. This includes addressing issues such as poverty, homelessness, mental health, and substance abuse through targeted interventions and investments in social services, education, and economic development.
